Macarons and manicures

For someone who doesn’t like tea, I sure love an excuse for a tea party. In fact, I keep thinking about starting a collection of oh-so-twee vintage mismatched teacups and saucers. They’re just so pretty! And I could put gin in them!
Being sent macarons and pastries was certainly a good excuse, and I made use of my Mum’s best bone china to have a belated Galentine’s Day party for my favourite ladies. You know what Galentine’s is, right? Why, it’s a day to show love to all your favourite gals, as dubbed by Leslie Knope – our future queen and ruler. Brioche Pasquier sent me some yummy goodies to treat some friends to a #MacaronManicure party, although we were so busy nibbling the delicious macarons, most of us forgot to do our nails!
The pretty pastel pastries (god, I love alliteration) were really tasty, and even better, they’re freezer friendly. It means – perhaps dangerously – that I can have a pack of these whenever I fancy. Not sure that’s great for the diet, but it sure is convenient… and tempting when I know that pistachio macarons can be mine at a moment’s notice!
I must say, I’m a bigger fan of Galentine’s than Valentine’s (sorry, Matt). All we need now is some gin for those teacups…
