From Muscle Shoals...Alabama

Alicia is from Alabama, staying in Wellington for a while. So what do you think of NZ ? "It's beautiful..it really is. I'm from Alabama, and then again, my home is beautiful too. The North of Alabama is incredible", Alicia says. Alicia is also a musician and is from Muscle Shoals - the largest City in Colbert County Alabama..about 13,500 people. "Oh so you know Muscle Shoals ?? I get a lot of that...it has an incredible musical legacy that just seeps through everywhere." And she's right. From Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett..to Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, The Stones and The Allman brothers -so many artists have recorded there. It goes on...an early version of Careless Whispers by George Michael was recorded in Muscle Schoals. It has a huge music heart.
