Tabitha and I went to the ski resort town of Ohakune, New Zealand for the first ever time. This is the town with the big carrot, full of skiers during winter. But this was the quiet summer season - but locals have been saying that the opening up of the cycleways around the country have started to kickstart small resort towns, like Ohakune, in the off season. The Twin Peaks reference is mentioned in a commendable way...I have always loved all encompassing WOOD interiors - who knows why. But the Powderhorn Chateau in Ohakune does it better than anywhere. Loved the place.
