THE MAXI DRESS EDIT

The maxi dress is a summer essential. A glamorous easy to wear piece no matter the occasion. I like to purchase a new maxi dress every year. This year I am yet to find the perfect one for me. I am on the hunt and i know I will find the one which i will love to wear.

When shopping for a maxi dress there a few tips that you need to consider -

1. Make sure you try them on and they fit you well 

Make sure you feel comfortable wearing the style you have chosen is siting perfectly for yourself to feel comfortable in. 

2. Choose the right lingerie 

Your under garments need to be appropriate for the colour and style you are wearing. Nude underwear for light colouring and a strapless bra for strappy styles.

3. Consider the length

If the dress is too long for you, but you really love it, then consider taking the dress to the dressmaker for making the hemline right for you. Or you can knot the corner to bring the length shorter.

4. Consider the cut

Some dresses can be low cut, if you are not a fan of flaunting your cleavage to much then please consider wear a cami with a similar colouring to add an extra layer at the front. Or if a cami is not for you may also consider a bandeau in a co-ordinating colouring.

5. Consider your shoes

Wear them with strappy sandal or wedge to keep the light and airy feel when wearing a maxi dress.

6. Accessorise

If the dress is a little to flowy for you consider wearing a belt to cinch in the waist.
