SCHOOL HOLIDAY BAKING CINNAMON SCROLLS

We are midway through the first week of school holidays. Time to get your baking on with snacks to keep their little tummies full. Cinnamon Scrolls are a crowd favourite and super easy to make, which can be a load more fun when you get the kids involved.


Cinnamon Scrolls are a tasty treat to take with you or have as a treat when others pop over for a visit.

Dough

3 teaspoons dry yeast
1 cup warm milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
4 cups plain flour

Mix all the ingredients together until and knead util a smooth ball forms. 
Leave in a warm place until mixture is double in size.
Punch and roll onto a floured surface until around 1 cm thick

Filling
1 cup brown sugar
2 and a half teaspoons of cinnamon
1/3 cup softened butter

Beat butter until creamy.
Add brown sugar and cinnamon.
Mix until smooth.
Spread over the dough.
Roll up the lengthwise, then slice into chunky pieces.
Place buns onto a tray lined with baking paper and cover with a towel for an hour.
Heat oven to 190 degrees
Bake until golden brown.

Icing
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
5 tablespoons water 

While the buns are baking in the oven mix all ingredients together for an easy drizzle over the cooked buns while hot.
