The Perfect Getaway: Baseball, Art, Vintage

We had the most perfect weekend getaway at St. Petersburg, FL. The stated purpose of the trip was to go to a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game, versus the Beasts of the East, the New York Yankees. So that happened, but there was more:

We stopped in Tampa for lunch (the Independent Cafe is fantastic; they have music and you can bring your dog) and a visit to the Seminole Heights Antiques market. Lots of vintage treasures there, and good prices.

The alarm clock brings back memories. I love needlepoint purses, too.

I used to collect 1940's and 50's tablecloths but gave away my collection when we moved

to our smaller apartment. I still like to eyeball them.

The Turtle, that is all.

The Man Who Thinks Invests in Finck's. You can't prove that wrong.

At the game, dressed for success. The Rays won, 16 - 1! We ruled!

We walked from the stadium back to our hotel, and passed a small gallery. There was a display of movie-related

art, very provocative. I see Apocalypse Now, an unknown volcano(?), 2001: A Space Odyssey, Boogie Nights ,

unknown lips (any ideas?) and Vertigo .

Have a terrific Tuesday, and stay fabulous,
