If you follow me on facebook or instagram you will know that I love a good midi-skirt or any skirt for that matter. You see I love dresses and skirts and except for jeans I am not much of a pants wearer. I love the femininity of a dress or a skirt and wearing them makes me feel classy and a little sophisticated.
There are certain rules that need to be considered when choosing or wearing a midi skirt.
Your height If you have the advantage of height then most lengths will suit you as long as it does not reach the ankle. If you are a little lady like me then the length should sit just below the knee to mid calf. If there is skirt that you love and just have to have then have it altered so it perfect for your height.
Length The midi skirt is called a midi as it should technically sit midway between your lower calf and ankle. The skirt should sit on the smaller part of your lower leg to avoid looking frumpy.
If you have tummy try and find a skirt with a thicker waist band to sit across your tummy or hips. Wear the skirt high up on the narrowest part of your waist. Beware of pleats as they can emphasise your tummy and make you look bigger than you are.
Pair it with a simple top. A t-shirt, a fitted top, a tailored shirt wearing them tucked in to form a little flounce at the waist.
The above skirts are this season from Country Road + Review.
