I have never worn a bikini - never, isn't that odd? I was a "chubby" child and not permitted to wear what we called a "two-piece." And later, I just never did. I think I missed out on some fab opportunities, as I was a shapely 20 and 30-something. I usually wore a traditional tank suit, easy to adapt to swimming or diving.

Catalogs and websites offer us over-50 women mostly swimdresses and tankinis. Nothing wrong with that, but they still leave me exposed on my back, where the nasty basal cell carcinomas are found.

But we don't have to be sheep, people, we can create our own swimwear.
I've designed my version of a bathing suit that provides good sun protection, and is easy to swim in. I wear a rash guard over a bikini top, and a pair of board shorts on the bottom. I previously had to buy my rash guards, or "skins" at grubby surfer shops frequented by

I am totally relaxed and happy in this creation. I still use Bullfrog Super Sport Lotion on my face and hands. It works on the surface of the sun, I think. All my swim stuff washes and dries easily and packs into a tiny ball for travel.
