I feel close to so many of you, even though we've never met. I feel like I could tell you secrets, and you'd keep them. When my cat is sick, I think you care, and I care when you hit a bump in the road. So you're not my "blogger friends", you're my friends.
It's a big thrill when I get to meet a friend in person. I first lunched and shopped with Paula of
Fashion Over Fifty almost two years ago, when she was visiting Florida. When she told me she was visiting again, we made quick, decisive plans to get together (we bloggers are like that).
Vero Beach is halfway between our way-stations. We started with decadent coffees at Starbucks, and wow, we had plenty to say. So much to
dish share about our blogging lives, families, work, and feelings about being 50-somethings in a 30-something world.
Proper lunch was had at
Ocean Grill. We had an almost-private room with a stunning beach view.
|
We ate here. One of us had the "I Feel No Pain" special drink of the day. |
The
shopping in the beach area of Vero is high-end and "ladies who lunch". Even though we
had just lunched, we didn't buy anything at the inflated beach prices. We did eyeball recklessly though.
|
We'd wear these (guess who'd wear the colorful one?), but no monograms, please. |
|
We both fell hard for the dress on the far right.
Paula said she'd wear floral trousers but I demurred. She would look fab, of course. |
|
Another dress that got both our votes. The artist in Paula liked the vibrant photo-print. |
The
shoes! Wish I'd bought them, and I may still. They were like walking on little pillows, and the colors are cool.
Two midlife bloggers, approaching fast on age 60, but feeling alive, full of laughs, and appreciative for all the good things we still look forward to. What a wonderful day.

Come on, Paula, move to Florida! |
Laugh a lot and stay fabulous,
