WMCFW Runway Review: Mercedes-Benz StartUp Final Runway Review




The Mercedes-Benz StartUp is an ongoing initiative to shed light on Canada's fashion design talent and foster growth in our nation's style scene. The Mercedes-Benz StartUp team scoured Canada from coast to coast in search of the next big designers and on Day 2 of World MasterCard Fashion Week the six talented finalists had the opportunity to send their designs down the runway. Who were these bright, young artists? Louanna and Hilary Murphy of Dreamboat Lucy, Eliza Faulkner of Eliza Faulkner Designs, Jonathan Shimoni of Faded Lifestyle, Hussein Dhalla of HD HOMME, Carlos Fogelman of Hip and Bone, Malorie Urbanovitch of Malorie Urbanovitch, Cecile Raizonville of Matiere Noire and Pedram Karimi of Pedram Karimi. An esteemed panel of judges and mentors including Jarrad Clark (IMG's Fashion Creative Director), Jeanne Beker (fashion personality, author and editor), Joanne Caza (Mercedes-Benz media), Robin Kay (President of Fashion Design Council of Canada), Bernadette Morra (Fashion Magazine's Editor-In-Chief) and Ruth Ann Lockheart (Vice president of Womenswear at Holt Renfrew) The runway show was diverse, exciting and filled with suspense!
