Would Ya Wear It? How I Navigate The Trendy-Trends

Some days I like to push the style envelope, without scaring the horses. Here are some trendy looks I plan to wear, with a few modifications.

All the runway images below are from this Refinery 29 article and slideshow. That's why all the models are extremely young and thin. But you don't have to be either of those things to wear something new that you like.

  • Grandpa pants. Baggy-cut and with a short, ankle-baring hem. I do like them, though this look is too, too punky for me. I'd wear a fitted button-down shirt, a classic belt, and peep-toe wedges.

  • Moroccan prints. Love these prints! They are trending like crazy in interior design. I'd wear one or the other of these pieces, and not a sheer version. The top would look wonderful with a pair of dark jeans or slim trousers. The necklace is fab too.

  • Sheer socks with booties. I am getting used to this idea. I'm a mental health counselor, so socks with boots is almost de rigeur, but this look is def more high fashion. I'll give it a go with a knee length skirt, why not?

  • Midi skirt with peplum hem. Love, love this skirt. Again, the sheer fabric is not appropriate for my life but I'd wear this shape skirt any day.

  • Extreme fringe. Less extreme will look good for me, on a vest, belt, or vintage bag. I am still not liking the sweatpants-hem for trousers. You?

Have a stylish, creative day and stay fabulous,
